 School of Humanities comment: 
 The ADD/DROP POLICY for ALL courses in the SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES is that ADDS and DROPS must be effected PRIOR to the END of the SECOND WEEK OF CLASSES (October 8, 2004).

 Japanese department comments: 
 Note: Any Student, continuing or new, who wants to enroll in a Japanese class for the first time at UCI in fall 2004, MUST take a placement test. The test will be offered Tuesday, June 8, 2004 for continuing students. New students for fall 2004 should consult the Placement Testing booklet (sent to freshmen only) or information sheet (sent to new transfers) for exam dates and times during the summer. Once you have the written exam results, contact Prof. Morioka at akemi@uci.edu to schedule an oral interview. 
 Contact the Testing Office through their website at http://www.testingoffice.uci.edu, by phone at (949)824-6207 or by email at testoff@uci.edu for details about registration and dates of placement tests.

 Note: Students registered in any section of Japanese 1A, 2A, or 3A MUST ATTEND THE FIRST and SECOND class meeting of the course. Any student who does not meet this condition will be required to drop the class with a drop card.
