 School of Humanities comments: 
 THE ADD/DROP POLICY FOR ALL COURSES IN THE SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES IS THAT ADDS AND DROPS MUST BE EFFECTED PRIOR TO THE END OF THE SECOND WEEK OF CLASSES (October 7, 2005). 
 Note: A lab fee may be assessed for those courses using the Humanities computer labs for class sessions. 
 NOTE: Enrollment in lecture and discussion, lecture and studio, lecture and lab, lecture and studio and discussion, etc. is required for all courses offered by the School of Humanities, as well as any courses cross-listed with a Humanities offering. 
 NOTE: For all non-EAD (electronic add/drop) courses in the School of Humanities, the waitlist for each course is active through the end of the WebReg adjustment period only (September 21, 2005 at 5:00 p.m.). Once instruction begins (September 23, 2005), all adds and drops are subject to the policy of each instructor. 
 NOTE: Adds, drops and grade/unit changes (all non-EAD courses only) processed within the first two weeks of each quarter via the add/drop/change card require the signature of the instructor. The only exception to this policy is for Humanities Core (course codes 29000-29138). All enrollment changes for Humanities Core are signed in their departmental office, HIB 185.

    NOTE: Arabic language 1ABC will be offered each academic year at UCI. Enrollment is subject to the approval of the instructor as students with previous knowledge of/exposure to Arabic cannot receive credit for this course. Although the course is primarily for graduate students, the course is open to interested undergraduates.
    NOTE: At this time, there are no plans to offer Arabic 2ABC at UCI in the future. Majors in the School of Humanities are advised that Arabic will NOT meet the two years of language required for all majors in the School. Non-Humanities majors may take Arabic 1ABC to meet Category VI of the breadth requirements.
