TO ENROLL IN A JAPANESE LANGUAGE CLASS:

STUDENTS WITH NO PRIOR BACKGROUND IN JAPANESE may enroll directly into 1A after signing the exempt form. The form is available from the UCI Testing Center, 3040 AIRB).

Any students, continuing or new, WITH prior Japanese language background wanting to enroll in a Japanese language class in Fall 2012 for the first time must take a placement test and an oral interview. The test will be offered Monday, May 21, 2012. You may register for an exam with the Testing Center through their webs site http://www.testingcenter.uci.edu.

After completing the placement test, please contact Hidemi Riggs (hriggs@uci.edu) or (949) 824-6483 to schedule an oral interview. Interviews will be given on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 and Tuesday, May 22, 2012 between 2:00pm and 3:00pm., in HIB 379. Make sure to bring your language background survey and test results with you. Placement information and authorization codes will be issued during the interview.
