TO ENROLL IN A JAPANESE LANGUAGE CLASS

STUDENTS WITH NO PRIOR BACKGROUND IN JAPANESE may enroll directly into 1A after signing the exempt form. The form is available from the UCI Academic Testing Center, 3040 AIRB).

Incoming freshmen and transfer students wanting to enroll in a Japanese language class in Fall 2013 can get details about registration and dates of placement tests offered for new students during the summer months via the UCI Academic Testing Center's web site: http://www.testingcenter.uci.edu. For students who complete placement tests during the summer, oral tests (interviews) will be offered on Tuesday, September 24 and Wednesday, September 25, 2013 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 pm. in HIB 379. Be sure to bring your language background survey and test results with you. Authorization codes will be issued during the interview. Please contact hriggs@uci.edu for more information.

After completing the placement test, please contact Hidemi Riggs (hriggs@uci.edu) or (949) 824-6483 to schedule an oral interview. Interviews will be given on Wednesday, May 08, 2013 and Tuesday, May 21, 2013 between 2:00pm and 3:00pm, in HIB 379. Make sure to bring your language background survey and test results with you. Placement information and authorization codes will be issued during the interview.
